FROG @ease Test Strips

FROG @ease Test Strips for Hot Tubs & Swim Spas
FROG @ease Test Strips are made for one system, and that’s what makes them work. Because SmartChlor self-regulates at a low, steady 0.5 to 1.0 ppm, a standard test strip would read that as dangerously low and tell you to add chlorine you don’t need. These strips don’t do that: instead, a simple outer indicator tells you when the SmartChlor cartridge needs replacing; darker than the bottle color means it’s still working, lighter means it’s time to swap it. Each of the 30 strips also tests the three water-balance factors that still need watching: pH (7.2 to 7.8), total alkalinity (80 to 120 ppm), and total hardness (150 to 250 ppm).

Regular water testing helps keep a hot tub comfortable and supports the proper performance of its sanitizer. FROG @ease test strips are designed for use with the FROG @ease system, which uses SmartChlor® technology. Because this system works differently from traditional chlorine routines, use the test strips made for FROG @ease and follow the product instructions rather than relying on a generic strip or a standard chlorine target.
What the Test Strips Help You Check
FROG @ease strips provide a quick way to check key aspects of your spa water, including the SmartChlor level and water-balance readings specified on the package. These readings help you decide whether an adjustment is needed and whether the system is operating as intended. Keep the strip container handy: its color chart and instructions are the reference for interpreting results, since colors and recommended ranges can vary by product.
How to Get a Useful Reading
Take a sample from the hot tub water according to the label directions. Dip the strip for the stated amount of time, remove it, and compare the pads with the chart at the instructed interval and in good light. Avoid touching the test pads, and don’t guess at a result if the colors appear between shades. Check that strips are within their expiration date and have been stored as directed; moisture, heat, or an open container can affect their reliability.
When to Test and What to Do Next
Test regularly, especially before soaking, after heavy use, and whenever the water looks or smells unusual. Follow the FROG @ease guide for the correct response to each reading. Make water-balance adjustments gradually, allow the water to circulate as directed, and retest before adding more chemicals. Never mix chemicals together, and use only products suitable for your hot tub.
Use Results Alongside Good Maintenance
Test strips are a convenient snapshot, not a substitute for routine care. Keep up with filter cleaning, water changes, and system checks, and consult the manufacturer’s instructions if readings remain outside the recommended range. Consistent testing and careful dosing make it easier to maintain clear, inviting water.
