Leisure Time Sodium Bromide

Leisure Time Sodium Bromide-Bromine Reserve
Prepare your spa water for effective bromine sanitation with Leisure Time Sodium Bromide. This treatment helps establish a bromide reserve, providing the foundation needed for a bromine-based spa care system.
Ideal for starting or maintaining a bromine treatment program, it supports consistent sanitizer performance and helps make routine spa water care more convenient. When used as directed with an oxidizer or bromine activator, it helps convert the bromide reserve into active bromine for ongoing water protection.
- BENEFITS: Establishes immediate bromine reserve when using Leisure Time Brom Tabs
- USE: Apply during the start-up process of the Leisure Time Simple Spa care program for bromine; Use .5 ounce per 100 gal…
- COMPATIBILITY: Compatible with bromine sanitizers
What a Bromine Reserve Does
A bromine reserve is a supply of bromide ions in spa or pool water that can be converted into active bromine when an oxidizer is added. Sodium bromide is one source of these ions. Active bromine helps control many microorganisms, while the reserve supports ongoing sanitizing as the water is treated.
This approach is used in some leisure-water care routines, including certain hot tubs and pools. It is not a stand-alone substitute for testing or routine sanitation: the water needs the right sanitizer level and balanced chemistry for the system to work as intended.
Using Sodium Bromide Carefully
Products and treatment methods vary, so follow the specific product label and the instructions for your spa or pool equipment. Do not estimate a dose or combine chemicals unless the directions explicitly allow it. In particular, never mix pool or spa chemicals together in a container; add them separately as directed.
Use appropriate protective equipment, keep chemicals in their original, clearly labeled containers, and store them securely away from children, pets, heat, and moisture. If a label is damaged or the directions are unclear, ask the product manufacturer or a qualified pool-care professional before use.
Testing and Water Balance
Test the water regularly with a method suitable for your bromine system. Check sanitizer levels and other relevant measures, such as pH, according to the product and equipment guidance. Water conditions can change with use, temperature, and fresh-water additions, so a single reading should not be treated as a lasting guarantee.
If readings are outside the recommended range, pause use until the water has been corrected and retested. Cloudiness, unusual odor, or irritation can signal that water care needs attention, but appearance alone cannot confirm that water is safe. Consistent testing, label-compliant dosing, and good circulation help make a bromine-based leisure-water routine more reliable.
