Leisure Time Spa Down

Leisure Time Spa Down-lowers pH and total alkalinity levels
Helps lower pH and total alkalinity levels in hot tub water, supporting balanced water chemistry and a more comfortable soaking experience. It is designed for routine spa maintenance when testing shows that pH or alkalinity is above the recommended range.
Regular water testing and proper adjustment can help support water clarity, protect spa surfaces and equipment, and improve the effectiveness of other water-care products. Always follow the product label for dosage, application, and safety instructions.

Why balanced water matters
High pH and total alkalinity can make spa water uncomfortable and contribute to cloudy water or scale on the tub and equipment. Total alkalinity helps stabilize pH, so it is usually best to address alkalinity first when both readings are above the ranges recommended on your spa-care product labels. Use a reliable test kit or strips before making adjustments.
Lower levels gradually
Use a spa-specific pH and alkalinity reducer, such as Leisure Time Spa Down, and follow its label for the correct amount based on your spa’s water volume and test results. Product strength and dosing instructions can vary, so do not estimate or substitute a pool dose. Keep the circulation running as directed, and add the treatment carefully to the water—not to a chemical container or dispenser unless the label specifically instructs you to do so.
Allow the water to circulate for the label’s stated interval, then test again. If alkalinity remains high, repeat with a small, measured adjustment rather than adding a large amount at once. Lowering alkalinity with acid will generally lower pH too, so monitor both readings after each treatment.
Fine-tune pH safely
If alkalinity reaches the recommended range but pH is still high, follow the product instructions and retest before adding more reducer. Aeration may help raise pH without significantly increasing alkalinity; use the spa’s jets with the cover open if your manufacturer’s guidance allows. Avoid trying to correct several readings at once without retesting.
Handle chemicals with care
Wear the protective equipment specified on the label, avoid breathing dust or vapors, and never mix spa chemicals together. Add chemicals separately, keeping people out of the water until the product directions say it is safe. Store treatments sealed, dry, and away from children and pets. When readings remain unusual or you are unsure about your spa’s water capacity, consult the product manufacturer or a qualified spa professional.
